Netflix Selects Spot-On Star for Bentham in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

The streaming service revealed this week that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any person they’ve touched with their right hand. The actor, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and anime.

This performer joins multiple recently announced actors tasked with bringing the group to life, including head the main antagonist, brought to life by the well-known actor, an emerging star as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the ensemble as the ruler of the fictional land.

Though the role is a important part of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Given the next season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this marks a significant shift in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal additional alterations to the narrative framework.

Their mix of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the role. Besides their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
