The final series of Netflix's otherworldly phenomenon the show is set to be one of the biggest events of the year. The first part debuts on November 27, yet a preview of the spine-tingling initial moments has been made public online.
The segment, called the prologue, transports viewers back to the start of the series in the year 1983, after the loss of Will Byers.
"Should I stay or should I go?" Will sings in an effort to keep calm in the alternate dimension.
The situation rapidly turns terrifying when a monstrous creature emerges and pulls the character to the domain of the antagonist. "Finally, we can begin," he informs the youth while sending a plant-like appendage down his throat. "You and I, we shall create such beautiful works together."
The concluding half of the last season will air on the day after Christmas, with the final episode out on New Year's Day – and will also have screened in specific theaters.
The summary states: "The season of 1987. The town is damaged by the opening of the Rifts, and the main characters are united by a shared mission: hunt down and destroy Vecna. Yet his location is unknown – where he is and plans unclear. Making more difficult the task, authorities has put the town under military quarantine and stepped up the search for Eleven, forcing her into seclusion. When the anniversary of Will's disappearance draws near, comes a profound, recognizable anxiety. The last showdown is looming – and accompanying it, a malevolence more powerful and more lethal than anything else they have encountered in the past. To stop this horror, they will require everyone – the entire group – united, for the final time."
The unexpected preview was posted online subsequent to the series' Hollywood event on Thursday, with appearances from the stars such as Millie Bobby Brown and another key actor.
"The scale of it is larger … It's more action and more special effects, yet it is likewise easily the most poignant season since it wraps up of the journey for the entire cast," the production's head writer, commented of the last chapters.
The co-producer and co-creator, stated: "Launching it in the world is nerve-racking, however we feel equipped to unveil it finally."
